User research is incredibly important in order to define what you’re designing, why, and for whom. Types of User Research: User Interviews, Competitive Analysis, etc.
Once all the research is complete, then you can begin brainstorming ideas for the product. Break down all of the research and write down key points. Begin defining what the user wants and why.
Sketch first! When designing anything, it’s always important to start sketching on paper. It will save you the headache of having to constantly revise a high fidelity mock up.
After reviewing your sketches with the entire design team, come to an agreement on one of the designs and begin digitizing.
After all the high fidelity wireframes are complete, it is important to create a working prototype that can be tested.
If possible, it’s always important to test your product before launching it in order to discover any bugs or any areas that could be improved. It’s good to test it on a few people, iterate based on their experience, test again, and iterate. It’s a repetitive process until you’ve landed on a more polished product that is ready for release.
